Project Orange - Vision Centres with support of Rotary International District 3232 Rotary International District 3232 along with a number of participating Clubs have come forward to support the setting up of 40 Hybrid Vision Centres in Kanchipuram, Thiruvallur, Chengalpattu and neighboring Districts around Chennai. These Centres are being setup with the objective of providing easy access to comprehensive eye care to the needy population in these areas.Each HVC will be full equipped with all Ophthalmic screening equipment to examine both anterior and posterior segments of the eye. The centres will also have tele-ophthalmic connectivity for enabling remote consultation with Ophthalmologists in the base hospital at Pammal. The HVCs will be opened in phases with the first set of five HVCs being inaugurated by end March 2021.

Dedication of Fundus Fluorescence Angiography
Rotary Club of Madras Fort, Rotary Club of Billericay Mayflower and The Rotary Foundation have donated one Fundus Fluorescence Angiography worth Rs.28.40 lakhs to Sankara Eye Hospital Hospital, Pammal to strengthen the Kannoli-Vision Saver Project.
In a function held at Sankara Eye Hospital on 11.05.2013 at 11.30am, Rtn.Venkat Ganesan, President, Rotary Club of Billericay Mayflower, UK presented their participation in this matching grant. Rotary International District 3230 District Governor Nominee Rtn.C.R.Raju has dedicated the equipment to serve the community at large by lightning kuthuvillakku. Medical Director of the Hospital Dr.C.Surendranatha Reddy received the equipment.
Rtn.S.A.Mageshwaran, President of Rotary Club of Madras Fort welcomed the gathering. Director-Community Service of the Club Rtn.S.Visvanathan explained in detail about the Kannoli-Vision Saver project with visuals. Dr.Surendranatha Reddy delivered the acceptance speech. Sub-Committee Chairman – Matching Grants Rtn.K.S.Srinivasan felicitated.
On the occasion, District Governor Nominee Rtn.Raju appreciated the Rotary Club of Madras Fort and the Management of the hospital for their yeomen service rendering to the blind people. Rtn.R.Anbalagan, Secretary of the Club thanked one & all. Rotarians, well-wishers, Board of Trustees, doctors & staff of the Hospital participated in this function.
